I have come from afar
I have come from afar and am still travelling.
Today we meet and I ask for shelter.
Whoever lets me in may share in the riches of God’s kingdom.
I bless your house and its inhabitants with peace.
Travelling, I come to many lands, and shake many hands,
but who gives me his heart with all its pain?
Whoever knows Me is often healed already before the wounds are pointed out.
Come to Me and I will give you rest.
I never said ‘first this or that’.
Take me at my word.
I am faithful, I love you.
Look at the sparrows and the flowers, they neither sow nor reap
I give them food, I do not forget them!
Would I then forget you, whom I sing of in my highest song?
You I love, you I love, you I love!
