Art in a little church from the year 900

The ‘Feest van de Geest’ (Feast of the Spirit) is organised in various provinces. The north-east Veluwe region presents itself in the churches of four villages along the IJssel: Welsum, Vorchten, Olst and Veessen. Feest van de Geest is an encounter between Visual Art, Pentecost and the Architecture of church buildings. The theme is “ELKAAR VERSTAAN” (UNDERSTANDING ONE ANOTHER).

I ran, but God walks.

I ran and ran, but God’s pace is different: it is walking.

That is why I have started to adjust my pace to His speed.

Adapting and holding myself back. The more I do that, the better I feel.

I can trust that feeling of peace.

A young person has to run, go for it!

When your insight grows, you make different decisions.

Go for a walk and think back to the time when you ran.

Abraham walked with God and was called “God’s friend”.

They probably walked at the same pace so that they could hear each other’s words and respond to them. A good conversation is not a one-way street; it connects, and we meet and understand one another.
