‘40 Days’ of art at the Juliana Kerk, Apeldoorn.
Unfortunately the EXHIBITION HAS BEEN CUT SHORT because of the coronavirus crisis.
By the art committee ‘Kunst in de kerk’ (Art in the Church)
“Kunst in de kerk”, and this time in the Julianakerk in Apeldoorn. “Seek and you will find”. ‘A sense of beauty, balance and truth guides me in what I make. I do not buy materials. Everything I use has been found or thrown away by someone. In Bible stories and principles, the idea of “being lost and being found” is an important point in common with my work. I enjoy making beautiful things that in turn tell a beautiful story of hope. For hope keeps us alive. I have already made many artworks, but I am setting out once more in search of something new. Something new by which you may perhaps be touched.’ With these words Wiebe van Dingen ends a short film that he has on his website. During the art committee’s visit he spoke enthusiastically about it, and we were allowed to see what he is working on.
From 1 March up to and including 10 April, which is Good Friday, his work hangs in the Julianakerk and information about the artworks is available. This work can be viewed during the church services as well as on Wednesday mornings, between 10:00 and 11:30. On Wednesdays please go to the Ontmoeting, the building behind the church.
